Seat AdjustmentDriver's Seat with Manual Height Adjustment
Standard on the 2001 Ford Focus, located in the front lower right side of the driver's seat. This crank style knob will allow you to raise and lower the driver's seat.
Tilt and Telescoping Steering Wheel(optional)
To adjust the steering wheel, release the locking level on the underside of the steering column. This will allow the steering wheel to move up and down "tilt", as well as in and out "telescoping".

WARNING: Never adjust the steering wheel while your car is moving.

Overdrive Button
(Automatic transmission only) Overdrive is the automatic transmission's 4th gear, and is on by default. Depressing the button located on the left underside of the shifter handle turns off overdrive. Turn overdrive off is you are towing, driving in the mountains, or if you just want to run in 3rd gear. When overdrive is off, your O/D Off  Light on your instrument panel will be activated. Careful to be sure you turn it back on if you are driving at high speed...
Manual Transmission Reverse Gear Lockout
(Manual transmission, Zetec Engine Models Only) The gearshift lever has a collar under the shift knob that must be lifted to shift into reverse.
Power Mirror Switch(optional)
Turn counterclockwise to operate the driver's side mirror, clockwise to control the passenger's side mirror. Center position is neutral. Use like a joystick to adjust your mirror.
Power Window Switches(optional)
Master controls are located on the driver's side door. The driver can control all the windows. The driver's side window has a "one touch" control to roll down the driver's window. The passenger's side door also has a window control panel.
Luggage Compartment Release
Located to the left of the instrument panel, the luggage compartment release button will pop the trunk lid.
Remote Keyless Entry(optional)
To lock all the doors, press the "lock" button once. This will also turn on the alarm system. To unlock the driver's side door, press the "unlock" button, press again within 3 seconds to unlock all the doors. Press the "luggage compartment" button to unlock the trunk. Press the "panic" button to sound the alarm, press again to deactivate the alarm.
Fog Lights Control(optional)
To turn on your fog lights, turn on your headlights and pull the switch "out" towards you. Push the switch "in" to turn off the fogs lights. Fog lights do not operate when you have you high beams on...
Rear Door Child Safety Locks
(Sedan and Wagon models only) Child safetly locks are located on the rear edge of each rear door. To activate the locks, you must insert your car key into the opening and turn to the locked "vertical" position. To disengage the child safety lock, insert your car key and turn to the center position.
Folding Rear Seatbacks
To fold down the rear seats, you need to follow these 3 steps.

1) Lift the lower seat cushion and flip forward.
2) (Wagon & ZX3 Models) Push the unlocking control on the rear seatback and fold the rear seatback forward. (Sedan models) Pull one or both of the unlocking controls in the trunk and fold the rear seatback forward.
3) Remove the head rests and lay the seatback down.

Note: Remember to re-install the head rests once the seatbacks are returned to their normal positions.

Window Wiper / Washer
The window wiper/washer switch is located on the right side of your steering column. For windshield "front" use, move the control in the "upward" position. The 1st position is for intermittent wiping, the 2nd position is for normal speed operation, and the 3rd position is for fast speed. For washer mode, press "in" on the control stick. If your wiper is equipped with "variable" intermittent mode, rotate the dial to select the variable speed.

Rear window control(Wagon & ZX3 models only), pull the control towards you once for intermittent mode. For normal wiping mode, pull to the 2nd position. For washer mode, pull all the way towards you.
