Homemade Cool Air Tube Attachment, aka "Ice-Man Clone"
With the air box resonator removed, no sense in sucking in hot air from inside the engine bay. For just a few bucks, you can make your own Mini Ice-Man Clone, not the entire Ice-Man CAI, but the newly announced mini-duct that goes where the resonator usually is.
Homemade Air Duct

Tools required: 1 Aluminum Flex Tube, 2" Pre-Heater Hose from NAPA or similar part. Approx. 18 inches in length.

Time to complete: 5-10 minutes

Cost: Approx. $5

Instructions:

  1. Remove the Air Box Resonator describe above.
  2. Stretch and bend and fit the pre-heater hose to fit from just behind the headlight, over the battery brace, to the whole on the air box where the resonator was removed.
  3. Form the end of the pre-heater hose that attaches to the air box outlet to fit snug.
  4. Be sure the pre-heater hose fits snug with the windshield wiper fluid resevoir too, this will hold it in place.
  5. Use a plastic tie-down around the pre-heater hose and the battery box bracket to secure the pre-heater hose in place as well.
