Door Sill Protectors
These door sill protectors are imported by KKM, and manufactured to the highest standards. They are full length, polished stainless steel door sill protectors that are lazer etched with the Focus logo and self adhesive backing for a simple no-drill installation. (Click Image to Enlarge)
Tools required: Masking tape
Time to complete: 5 minutes
Cost: Approx. $55(cost of the door sill protectors)
Instructions:
- Place a strip of tape at the "top" of the door sill where the weather strip has a break in it. I found this to be the spot where the door sill is still "flat", after that it starts the upward incline of the door's shape.
- Note: It's important that you place the door sill protector on the flat / level area of the door sill, otherwise when you shut your door, you could rub against the new protector. Since they are secured with double sided tape, getting them back off would be a pain...
- Additional Note: Also refer to the instruction that come with the product.
- With your masking tape in place, marking your starting point for the new protector. Remove the paper from the take on the new door sill protector.
- Place your new door sill protector's inside edge all the way into the door sill "wall", do not let the tape make contact with the door sill yet.
- With the new door sill protector lined up with your tape and press against the door sill wall, lay it down and secure it in place.
- Firmly press the new door sill protector down with your hands to insure the tape is holding.
